Have you ever wondered what JOY does to your brain?
Joy packs a pretty good dopamine and serotonin punch in our noggin that make us want to connect with others. In other words, relationships and other people are central to feelings of joy and happiness. Joy builds resilience and godly character. Joy is a fruit of the spirit within us.
After recognizing that God places joy in our hearts, what can we do to foster a sense of joy?
Do you remember the old "party line"? You know where 5 people at 5 different houses hear the phone ring, pick up and answer? If the call is for you, you wait until you think you hear everyone else hang up and then you hope that your conversation is private.
If you're kinda nosey like I have been at certain points in my life, you might just hang out a while hoping they don't hear you. Or you need to make a call, but when you pick up the phone, you hear a conversation in progress and you're like rats the line is busy!

We are bombarded with anywhere from 6-60K thoughts daily (scientific research varies on that number).
No matter. Whatever thought or however many thoughts that you engage, you have a choice.
You can energize and optimize those negative, toxic thoughts, self-limiting beliefs and notions OR you can de-energize them, exhausting them of any power. Over time, they disappear!

Long ago, the prevailing thought was that our brains never changed. Whatever number of brain cells we were born with, we would have for life.
If you experienced severe brain injury and damage from drug use, etc., cells would be destroyed, and once brain cells died, there was no way to get more of them.
