"Since childhood, each of us has been trained in the art of wearing a mask. This mask, like a physical one, is designed to deflect, hide, and prevent the outside world from seeing what lies underneath. Many of us are carrying a tremendous amount of pain behind a mask. It's time for us to begin to deal with the hidden wounds from our past, so God can heal us." --Jocelyn Jones
What are 10 common emotions we may be quite skilled at concealing?

According to MW online dictionary, "shame" is "a painful emotion caused by consciousness of guilt, shortcoming, or impropriety; a condition of humiliating disgrace or disrepute; something that brings censure or reproach; something to be regretted."
Whoosh! For many of us, "shame" is an old familiar friend, but by God's good graces and mercy, God Himself invaded our heart and mind with His love--and by His strength, we bid "adiós" to Señor Shame.

Let's welcome Cheri Scott, Executive Director for Avenues for Women -- a pregnancy center in Frankfort KY offering 100% free counseling and medical services for their clients, to the Choose 2 Think Podcast Episode 037 Pro Woman.
Not only does Avenues for Women advocate for the sanctity of human life in the womb, they also advocate for the sanctity of the life of the woman, young or old, who walks through their doors, takes a seat in their office, and is carrying that tiny life within her.
Sally and I met to catch up at an outdoor café in Lexington. As we were sipping on iced tea she shared with me this huge skeleton in her closet that put a lump in my throat the size of Jumbo the elephant.
I watched the tears roll down her face. Her eyes were racked with such pain and turmoil. And in her voice I heard the hatred that she was feeling for herself.
It broke my heart.
Sally’s story was that of the prodigal child. She had already come back to the fold after her fall. She was a believer and lived her life seeking God and His ways as best she could. But this dark secret that she shared with me had never before seen the light of day.
We sat in silence for a moment…and then she asked me what you should do. How she could get rid of the shame. I took a deep breath.
The air felt a bit still and my heart was racing because I could so relate to what she was saying in many ways and because I also knew what was in store for her: joy, freedom, peace, a brand new direction.
